Pretoria is derived from the roman Praetorian guard.

The term Praetorian derived from the tent of the commanding general or praetor of a Roman army in the field—the praetorium. They were an elite recruitment of Roman citizens. It was a habit of many Roman generals to choose from the ranks a private force of soldiers to act as guards of the tent or the person. They consisted of both infantry and cavalry.

In our investing strategies we like to think we will recruite elite companies throught the ranks. We plan on choosing fast growing companies (cavalry) and strong value investing companies (infantry).

We invest in value. The famous quote from Warren Buffet is our thinking about getting the best value at the lowest price :

value is what you get, price is what you pay
